Tax Saving (ELSS)
ELSS (Equity Linked Savings Scheme) funds are equity-oriented mutual funds that carry a statutory three-year lock-in.
Things to know
- Each ELSS investment is locked in for three years from the date of investment.
- ELSS invests mainly in equities, so its value can rise and fall.
- Whether an investment gives you a tax deduction depends on the tax regime you choose and the limits in force for the year. Please confirm this with your tax adviser.
A calmer way to invest
Investing through a SIP across the year spreads your purchases over time, instead of one lump sum close to the tax deadline.
Our founder CA. Nimesh R Hariya is a Chartered Accountant. For your own tax position, speak to him or your regular tax professional before deciding.
Please note: Mutual Fund investments are subject to market risks, read all scheme related documents carefully. Returns are not guaranteed. This page is general information, not personal advice.
